When we struggle with depression, anxiety, pain from the past, or traumatic stress, our relationships struggle too. Often the pain experienced in relationships with our loved ones is what drives us to find relief and solutions from the disconnect and disruption we are in the midst of. We don't just want to feel better, we want to be better: Better to ourselves, better to those we love. Therapy can be about finding the solutions that will enable us to move beyond the obstacles and into the connections we really desire.

I specialize in working with people who are experiencing grief, traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, identity concerns, and other issues that affect and impede relationships. I will collaborate with you to identify not only what the challenges are but what the goals are for your future, as we work together to find solutions.

I am a founding member of The Bayside Center, LLC. We are a community of professionals dedicated to providing service and collaboration to anyone looking to resolve problems they have experienced in the past, understand who they are in the present, and achieve the goals they have set for themselves in the future.

As we sit together, my vision is that together we will walk the often dark road to healing and restoration. I have no illusions that life can be lived without struggle and challenge. Yet, I do believe there is hope for the future and a fullness of the life that can be experienced in each day.

I believe it is an honor to be with others as they think through their lives and their many stories. The hope would be to have desires awakened, imagination stirred, and a new sense of freedom discovered.

My background is varied and extensive. At Mars Hill Graduate School in Seattle, I provided supervision and training for master level counseling students for four years. For more than a decade, I've been a therapist at Dr. Dan Allender's Wounded Heart Recovery Week working with those who have suffered from sexual abuse. In 20 years as a provider of social services, I have had extensive training in substance abuse, abuse and neglect of children, domestic violence, sexual abuse, career counseling, and team facilitation and I have served as a CPS Investigator for the Division of Children and Family Services.

From Challenge Course Facilitator to program development coordinator, I have developed interactive techniques to offer groups. I believe my training has given me dynamic tools for various situations whether in conflict or reconstruction, and I have found them useful in my private therapy practice.

Our workaday lives are full of stressful events, and whether you are aware of it or not, our bodies absorb and retain that stress.  Stress that is retained, ‘stored’ in the body, uses up and displaces energy, manifesting itself as a feeling of malaise, confusion, headaches, or an overall ‘run-down’ feeling.

Why not let me help you let go of that stress?  My safe touch will allow you to decompress, relax, and re-energize.

I graduated from the Port Townsend School of Massage in 2013 and started my therapeutic massage practice at Poulsbo Massage, where I spent four years developing and steadily improving my craft.

As  someone who not only provides this type of practice, but who also a recipient of it, I can assure you that a good massage can be relaxing, refreshing, and not least of all, restorative.  My wish is for you to experience the same, as well as a feeling of lightness and clarity of thought.

Whether you seek relief from aching back muscles or just want to relax / de-stress, I am here to accommodate your needs.

Certified Life Coach

Sorry, Not Currently Accepting New Clients

My mission is to help clients achieve clarity on what they want, focus on how to get it, and build the momentum they need to make it happen. Along the way, we learn how to better identify, diffuse, and even dodge altogether, those stealthy minefields that suck joy and rob productivity from our lives. In short, I am a co-conspirator in your success.

Among my specializations:

  • Career and life transitions

  • Marriage, relationships, parenting

  • Personal and professional development

  • Adults with ADHD

  • Military and veteran life

I started coaching informally as a foreign correspondent, war reporter, and health & wellness feature writer for a variety of national newspapers, magazines, and websites, mentoring other writers and photographers in the art and science of our craft.

I was drawn to coaching professionally when I experienced how much it made a difference during a hard season of transition in my own life. I'd achieved plenty of success, lived and worked around the world, but found myself stuck in a rut, mired in ways of doing things that weren't working any more. Coaching helped me get unstuck. It helped me understand myself more clearly, gave me the tools I needed to make the changes I wanted, and provided the encouragement and accountability to transform my vision into reality.  In short, I coach because I know how well it works. And I love helping other people find the life-changing solutions and strategies that work for them.

To be clear, coaching is not counseling or therapy. Coaching is about building new bridges into the future not wrestling with the past. As your coach, I will offer new ways of thinking and problem solving, help you harness your superpowers and co-create solutions with you through powerful questioning, active listening, and collaborative vision-building. To be sure, it's hard work, but it's also fun and rewarding. You'll see.

If you're ready to level up, call now to schedule a free Discovery Session to find out if coaching is right for you.
